Evaluation Question 5 : How did we attract/adress our audience?

For Robert and I receiving feedback on our main task, we firstly got feedback through primary and secondary audiences. Our primary audience were people who wanted to see the film and told us what they liked and what they disliked about our film. We listened to people’s views on what they felt like needed to be improved and we acted upon it quickly by improving our film with those improvement ideas. For example our audience mainly said our titles were too big which got in the way of the screen time, so we made them smaller which suited our audience’s needs. By doing this, this shows we have attracted an audience and are improving our film for their needs and also by making a film they are keen to watch.

For our secondary audience feedback, we basically got people who were less keen to watch mine and Roberts’s film, but could end up showing it to their friends and family.

Our Rough cut final opening sequence main task class feedback

On Wednesday 24th February we presented our current edited version of our opening sequence for 'Anonymous' which went successfully and we got lots of positive feedback and notes for improvement.

Thing for us to improve on include:
  • Decrease the size font of our titles as they cover the screen too much (too big).
  • The background music is too loud at the beginning and needs to be dimmed so the voices of the characters are more clear for the audience to hear.
  • Cut down on unneeded scenes as our film opening is currently too long at 2 minutes 45 seconds and the examiner only marks the first 2 minutes of it. So we need to get out film opening down to 2 minutes for it to be fully appreciated.

Progressing with our opening scene

Me and Rob are over half way through creating our film opening where I am editing the sound/effects and Rob is editing the main footage on Premiere pro. We used a seperate more advanced over the shoulder microphone of a long stick for much better sound for the voices of the characters in our film opening. However this meant the files of the audio will be seperate from the video footage , so when we were putting the film together , I had to sync the audio with the video footage which is difficult getting it 100% precise.
