The audience will easily identify that our opening sequence is an action/adventure genre. This is because we use violence , stunts and fast paced editing to get and maintain the audiences attention. The storyline has to be engaging which is why we started our opening sequence in an interview room with photography lighting with suspense pauses created which will make the audience/viewers watch more.
Sometimes action/adventure genres can be mixed with other genres , for example comedy genres , to try and level up the engagement of the audience. However , that is not the case for our film opening as our film opening is full on serious action-adventure. Some conventions of our genre include close up shots , dimmed suspensed lighting , fast editing and long shots for a real feel and acknowledgement of the surroundings.
Most action genre films are set in scenic countries abroad , however as we are only still students , we have to base our film/genre in England preferably in the area of where we live. The characters in our opening sequence do wear almost identical clothing to other action/adventure films. Our characters wear smart suit clothing including white shirts , black trousers and shoes etc.
The music in our opening sequence will start out at a normal level and as more suspense actions happen throughout the interview scene , the music will get faster until the fighting begins where the music is fast paced and goes in flow witht the fast paced editing. The gun shots and punches will be enhanced by editing on audio softwares like audacity by myself (as I am in charge of the sound) which will make our opening sequence have non-digetic sounds included as well as digetic ( the characters speaking). This will help enhance the fighting and make it sound more brutal and realistic.
